Adding Fog/Volumetric Lighting to The Scene — Unity HDRP
Even though our scene is relatively compact, we can still infuse it with some volumetric lighting to amplify its ambiance. In today’s blog post, I’ll take you step by step through the process.
Firstly, let’s incorporate the Fog override into our Global Volume. To do this, select the Global Volume, click the “Add Override” button, and search for “Fog”.
Next, activate it, set the Fog Attenuation Distance to a value of 50, and ensure that Volumetric Fog is enabled.
Here are the results, both before and after. You can clearly see that the introduction of volumetric lighting elevates the overall atmosphere.
In the next article, we’ll explore the utilization of Reflection Probes to introduce reflections into our scene.
